Viola D. Shirey, 66, of Franklin, passed away after an extended illness at her residence on Monday, April 6th at 4:40 p.m.Born October 2, 1948 in Rural Valley, Viola was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Clara Holowell Rupp, Sr. She was employed by Steven Beals as a housekeeper for more than 21 years. Viola enjoyed cooking. She especially cherished and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with her family.Viola is survived by her 2 daughters, Julie Botts and her husband, Rob, of Oil City, and Jodi Hockman and her husband, Steve, of Franklin. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Natasha Shirey, Nicholas Fike, Alichia Johnson, John Johnson, Logan Botts, Missy Kitelinger and Dan Kitelinger; and her 5 great-grandchildren, Natalia Neshaye Schalizki, Nadia Nicholette Shirey, Jonathan Arthur Crawford III, Ezekiel Mathew Finch, and Arrabella Marie Johnson.Viola is additionally survived by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Rupp.A Memorial Service for Viola will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin will be handling arrangements.
