Sandra L. Welshans, 71, of Marienville, passed away on Saturday, June 13 at 11:35 p.m. at Golden Living Center in Clarion.Born April 25, 1944 in Franklin, Sandra was the daughter of Herbert W. Hawke and Emma Flickner, who preceded her in death. She was married to Clyde L. Welshans, who also preceded her in death. Sandra was a 1962 graduate of Franklin High School. She enjoyed reading her Bible, and loved being with her dog, "Angel," and her cat, "Oreo." She also enjoyed flowers, Steelers Football, and Penguins Hockey. Sandra is survived by her daughters, Lisa Best; Kelly Anderson and her husband, Douglas; and Shauna Welshans; all of Marienville. She is also survived by her grandchildren Caitlyn McKittrick and her fiance, Kenneth Colarte; Gregory Lee Best, Jr.; Haleigh Tebay; and Peighton Trout, all of Marienville. Sandra is additionally survived by her step-grandchildren; Harlie Anderson of Marienville and Douglas Anderson III and his wife, Suzanne, of DuBois. She also is survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Alyssa Strain and Kyleah Strain of Marienville; and 4 step-great-grandchildren; Leelah Anderson, Rylee Anderson, and Amelia Walker of Marienville; and Bentley Anderson of DuBois.In addition to her husband and parents, Sandra is preceded in death by her son, Keith R. Welshans; five brothers, Richard Hawke, Raymond Hawke, Herbert Hawke, Burton Hawke, and Andrew Hawke; four sisters, Cecile Heller, Gertrude Harrah, Emma Burnie, and Gladys Hawke.The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the A.S.P.C.A. at www.aspca.org. Donations can also be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, June 18, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 1:00 p.m.Funeral services will follow visitation with Rev. Randy Evans of the Clarion County VNA Hospice, officiating. Every memory will be even more special now!! Remember, she is not really gone, all of the memories you have of her , and everything you do daily, your Mom will be with each and everyone of you!! Knowing this, and knowing we will one day be together again is what keeps me moving forward each day since my Daddy passed. I am so sorry for your loss and pain.
