Albert Edward Carson, Sr., 74, of Franklin died at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Born March 13, 1939 in Franklin, PA, Albert was the son of the late Harold and Hazel W. (Hart) Carson. On October 26, 1963 he married the former Freda Bly, who preceded him in death on March 26, 2011. Mr. Carson was a 1957 graduate of Oil City High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed as a stillman and laborer at Pennzoil for 31 years until his retirement in September 1999. Mr. Carson was of the Protestant faith. Albert is survived by his son, David Duane Carson and his wife, Nicki of Franklin; his daughter, Angela Marie Carson of Reno; his brother, Norman Carson and his wife, Lois of Titusville and his sisters, Wilma Sutley of Franklin and Nancy Barger of Franklin; his grandchildren, Jaiden Carson and Zoe Heckathorn, both of Franklin; and a sister-in-law, Verna Carson of Franklin. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Albert E. Carson, Jr. and two brothers, Chester L. Carson and Kenneth Carson. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, January 30, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Leichliter of the Seventh Street Church of God in Franklin, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard. Interment will take place in Bethel Cemetery.
