John N. Burk

John N. Burk, born March 28, 1967 in Franklin, passed away at 5:00 AM , Saturday, November 9, 2013 at his home following his long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends. He was the son of the late Daniel L. Burk Sr. and Jackie (Deeter) Burk, who survives. John Graduated from Rocky Grove High School and Venango Technical School in 1985. On July 2, 1994 he married Melissa Zinz, who survives. John was employed at Joy Manufacturing for 19 years and retired from there on October 13, 2013. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, taking tours in his truck with his dog, watching NASCAR, and spending time in his garage. In addition to his wife and mother, John is survived by his children, Debra Debbie Burk and her fiance, Jacob Shevitz, and Mathew Bubba Burk; his brother, Dan L. Burk and his wife, Lori; his mother-in-law, Mary Maul; his brother-in-laws, Mike Zinz and his wife, Mary, and Andy Zinz and his wife, Susan; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and his brother, Richard Burk. A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the family and/or the Cooperstown Volunteer Fire Department, 152 N. Main Street, Cooperstown, PA 16317 . Funeral arrangements are being handled by Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin.
