Lillian E Phillips, 87, of Franklin, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 13th, at Sugar Creek Station where she had resided for the past several years.Born September 4th, 1927 in DuBois, PA, Lillian was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Cecile Rumburger Hanna.She married Frederick D. Phillips on August 18, 1947, and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1969.Lillian retired from Hill's Department Store where she had been employed as the Assistant Manager of the Shoe Departments. She also had worked at Brody's Department Store as head of the Lingerie Department, and as a telephone operator for General Telephone after high school.Lillian was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking and was "famous" for her pie crusts and pies. Lillian enjoyed her family and valued her "time at home".Lillian is survived by her son, Frederick D. Phillips, Jr. and his wife, Marty, of Dempseytown; her daughters, Amy McMurray and her husband, James, of Utica, and Suzanne Plyer of Erie; and her 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Lloyd Hanna of Tampa, FL, and her half-brother, Jack Reisinger,In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by her sons, Jeffery T. Phillips and Daniel M. Phillips; her sister, Lorretta Flanders; and her brothers, Tom Burns, Maurice Burns, and Robert Burns.Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Monday, September 15th from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held here at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 16th at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. David Janz, pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.
