Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Grandma was a wonderful influence in my life. Her love was a constant I knew I could always count on. I will miss her dearly, but am so glad she is where she is now. Love you, Grandma! Your Lisa Jo Jo

  2. What a wonderful person who I worked with for many years at Polk Center. She was so kind to the people at Polk Center and she gave them so much of herself. They loved her and she loved having them in her workshop each and every day. Paul Miele was definitely a favorite of hers and he always spoke to me about Jean. I have such fond memories of our long years together in the VRS Department. God Love you Dear Jean…thank you for being my friend !!! I enjoyed being your Secretary also ! Love to your family…Becky and Fuzzy !!!

  3. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember your mother well. She was a very
nice lady. I remember one night Diana and I stayed over night at your house and I got sick. Your mom talked your dad into taking me home in a very bad snow storm. She said no one should be away from home when they didn’t feel good. She was always so good to all the kids in Utica.

  4. She was a neighbor of mine years ago. I remember her taking me for walks through the fields when I was a little girl. I remember one time we came back to her house and I was covered in leeches from a small stream on their farm. Sad to hear of her passing.

  5. We loved the chance of getting to know Aunt Jean when she would stop by Virginia on her way to and from Florida. She shared stories and memories with my boys about my dad and all his family. She and the boys talked a lot of Steelers stories. We re sad she is no longer with us, but happy she is “Home.” Love, Dave, Laura and Joey Slye

  6. With a heavy heart I say farewell to the last of my mothers immediate family. I will so miss our visits and the reunions we shared. You now have received your reward for a life well lived and for that I am so happy for you. You are so very much loved and will be missed by the many souls you have touched, Rest in Peace, I love you Aunt Jean.

    Renie

  7. Please accept my sincere sympathies for your loss. I worked many years with Jean at Polk Center and she was a wonderful mentor to me on how to be kind to people. Her kindness extended to me, as well, and I will always remember her.

  8. I’ve known Jean almost my whole life. Rev. Martin Dunlap was pastor at Maple Dale Free Methodist Church when I was very little and I remember Jean played the piano. For years, Jean and my Aunt Bea Boyd were very good friends and when Jean was in the Harrisburg area, she would bring Aunt Bea to my home to visit. Even after my aunt had passed, Jean and I stayed in contact through e-mail and an occasional meal at Cactus Willies. She had an amazing life of traveling and loved her family very much. Jean helped me through so many storms with her prayers. Thankful that her life touched mine. See you again, sweet friend!
