Shirley L. Heeter, 84, of Palm Coast, Florida (formerly of Franklin and Sharon PA), passed away on July 1 at Florida Hospital Flagler, in Palm Coast, FL. Born December 31, 1928 in Franklin, Shirley was the daughter of the late William A. and Edna M. Blair Cotterman. She was a 1946 graduate of Franklin High School. She was married to Ronald J. Heeter, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Heeter worked as a Telephone Operator for General Telephone and also as a Dental Assistant for Dr. James Carrier in Sharon, PA. She was a member of the Hickory United Methodist Church in Hermitage. Mrs. Heeter also belonged to and was active in the Junior Womens Club in Sharon, and the Steelers Club in Palm Coast, Florida, an avid reader and bowler. Shirley is survived by her sister, Judy A. Gibb, and her husband, Jack W., of Palm Coast, Florida; her grandson, Kristopher D. Heeter, of Rochester, PA; and her daughter-in-law, Dawn M. Heeter, of Sharon, PA. She is also survived by one great-grandchild and Nephew, Jay J. Gibb of Pittsburgh, PA; and two Nieces , Marlene R. Gibb of Latrobe, Pa. and Beth A. Gibb of Port Orange, FL. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Craig D. Heeter. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Wednesday, July 10, from 10 am to 12 noon. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon at the Funeral Home following visitation, with Rev. Jeff Little, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Franklin, officiating.   1. We the children of Bob and Lorrain Heeter, send our sincere condolences to the family of Aunt Shirley.  She was a beautiful and kind lady.  Even though I didn’t get the opportunity to see her, it was always a pleasure to exchange Christmas cards each year to hear how she was doing.

  2. Judy and Jack….I wish to offer my sympathies to your family. My kids use to deliver the paper to Shirley when she lived in Sharon. I met you guys through Ken and Barb Rogers.
