JoAnne Tate JoAnne Tate, 59, of Pearl Avenue, Oil City, passed away at 9:15 p.m. , Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born June 4, 1952, in Rouseville, JoAnne was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret McFadden Greene. She was married to Melvin V. Tate, Sr., on August 31, 1991, and he survives. JoAnne at one time had been employed at Polk Center as a Resident Service Aide, and at the Presbyterian Home in Oil City as a Certified Nurses Aide. She was a member of the Erie Street Church of God. JoAnne enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and spending time on her computer. She especially cherished the times she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, JoAnne is survived by her children, Jamie McCool and his wife, Charmaine, of Franklin, John McCool of Seneca, Bobby McCool of Oil City and Tammy McCool of Oil City; and her step-children, Melvin Tate and his wife, Sylvia, of Morganton, North Carolina, Melvin (Gunner) Tate, Jr., and his wife, Wendy, of Franklin, Otis Tate and his wife, Sara, of Columbus, Ohio, Bobby Jo Tate and his wife, Wanda, of Morganton, North Carolina, Sheila Tate and Melissa Tate of Morganton, North Carolina, Angelia Phillips and her husband, Donnie, also of Morganton, North Carolina, and Stephanie Sloss of Oil City. She is also survived by several well-loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. JoAnne is additionally survived by her brother, John Greene and his wife, Karen, of Oil City; and her sisters, Marilyn Lineman of Oil City and Susie Warsel and her husband, Chuck, of Rouseville. In addition to her parents, JoAnne was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Greene, Jr. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Friday, November 18, from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. following visitation..
