Amos R. Latchaw, 78, of Cooperstown Road, Cooperstown, died at 2:07 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born January 7, 1933 in Franklin, he was the son of the late Herbert Latchaw and Cleo Orr Hanna Mr. Latchaw had worked as a molder for CPT for 29 years and most recently as a foreman at the Hodge Foundry in Greenville, Ohio. Amos was a greeter at the Cooperstown Evangelistic Tabernacle. He was a member of the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Quarter Century Association, Rainbow Bowmen, Inc., and a life time member of the sport of archery. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and spending time with all of his grandchildren. Amos was also a member of the senior golf league. Amos was married on June 6, 1952 to the former Dorothy Lepley, who survives. This Monday would mark 59 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert Latchaw and his wife, Terry of Maine; two daughters Barb Hummel and her husband, John of Oil City, and Kathy Davis and her husband Daniel of Oil City; two brothers, Charles Latchaw and his wife, Olive of New York, and John Latchaw of Texas; two sisters-in-law, Violet Hazlett of Franklin, and Marion Ames and her husband, Don of Franklin; and his brother-in-law, Charles Lepley, and his wife, Mary of Florida. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Bob Latchaw, Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Franklin, Bob Umstead and his companion, Cheryl of Cooperstown, Tracy and her special friend, Ken of Kentucky, Doug and his wife, Kristen of Hawaii, Jessie Latchaw and her companion, Brian of Nevada, Mandy (Latchaw) Becker of Maine, Becky Gilstrap and her husband, Josh of South Carolina, Jill Graham and her husband, Mark of Franklin, and Tece Behr and her husband, Jason of Delaware ; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Amos was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, LeRoy Latchaw; his sister, Ellen Sires; his brother-in-law, William Hazlett; his father-in-law, Earl Lepley; his mother-in-law, Virginia Lepley; and two grandchildren, Tammy Hawk and Thomas Irwin. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Fultz of the Cooperstown Evangelistic Tabernacle, officiating. Interment will follow in Peters Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Cooperstown Evangelistic Tabernacle, P.O.
