Howard H. Hart Howard H. Hart, 69, of Buffalo Street, Franklin, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2010 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born February 17, 1941 in Sugarcreek Township, he was the son of the late Harold G. and Velma Grace Carson Hart. Howard married the former Donna G. Cochran on June 24, 1960. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and was honorably discharged from duty on September 10, 1965. Howard was employed at Franklin Steel as an inspector and retired from there in 1995 after working for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers football fan. He was a cancer survivor. Howard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His happiest times were spent surrounded by his family - laughing, talking and enjoying home-cooked Sunday dinners. In addition to his wife, Howard is survived by his son, Kurt A. Hart and his wife, Teresa, of Oil City; his two daughters, Tammy Stallsmith and her husband, Bruce, and Michele Pratt and her husband, Richard, all of Oil City; his seven grandchildren, Shannon Coon and her husband, Josh, of Reno, Sara Pratt of Morrisville, North Carolina, Colt Hart and his fiancee', Shelly Banks, of Franklin, Michael Pratt, Jenny Pratt and Ashley Williams, and Taylor Hart of Oil City; and his great-granddaughter, Kaileigh Coon of Reno; and his faithful dog, "Digger". He is also survived by his two brothers, Tom Hart and his wife, Darlene of Nantucket, Connecticut, and Willard Hart and his wife, Diane, of Hartford, Connecticut; and his sister, Betty Heller of Murfeesborough, Tennessee. Friends will be received on Friday, November 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin. Funeral Services for Howard will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, November 27 at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Bennett, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Franklin, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Garden where Military Honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
