Richard G. Constable Richard G. Constable, 80, of Lakecreek Road, Cochranton, passed away at 4.17 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born June 29, 1930 in Johnstown, PA, Dick was the son of the late Rev. Norman A. and Grace Adams Constable. He was married to Cheryl Eakin, and she survives. Dick was a 1948 graduate of Oil City High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served during the Korean War from December 27, 1950 until October 26, 1954. While in the Navy, he received the National Defense Service Medal. After serving with the Navy, Dick attended Penn State Behrend. In 1956, Constable Refuse was established, where Dick remained owner/operator until his retirement in 2002. He most loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed riding his bike, gardening, golfing and collecting trains. In addition to his wife, Cheryl, Dick is survived by his son Gary Constable and his wife, Beverly, of Punta Gorda, Florida; his daughters, Debbie Wiegel and her husband, Kneal, of Polk, Sandy Trantina and her husband, Jack, of Cape Coral, Florida, and Alisa Ham and her husband, Scott, of Solon, Iowa; and his step-children, Richard Eakin, Jr. and his wife, Carla, of Cochranton, and Monica Eakin of Cooperstown. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren, Aaron Westfall and his wife, Erin, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Emily Mahfood and her husband, Joseph, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Miles Constable of Punta Gorda, Florida, Kurt Wiegel of Byron, New York, Ryan Wiegel and his wife, Sara, of Franklin, Amanda Wiegel of Charlotte, North Carolina, Zachary Trantina and Tyler Trantina, of Cape Coral, Florida, Caitlin Ham and Connor Ham of Solon, Iowa, and Desiree Eakin and Morgan Eakin of Cochranton; and his great-grandchild, Tighe Westfall of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dick is additionally survived by his brother, William Constable and his wife, Peggy, of Tempe, Arizona; and his sister, Miriam Houtz and her husband, Bill, of Rolesville, North Carolina. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Heckathorne. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Friday, May 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. and also on Saturday, May 28 from 12 to 1 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, May 28 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Rob Guy, pastor of Barkeyville Church of God, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
