Kathleen Robin Keener, 57, of Evergreen Drive, Franklin, passed away at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Born February 10, 1954, in Wexford, PA, Kathleen was the daughter of the late George and Doris Adams Ruege. Kathleen was a 1972 graduate of Seneca Valley High School. She was a former member of the Cranberry Marching Unit where she was a Baton and Rifle member. . She was retired from Polk Center, where she had been employed as a R.S.A. Kathleen especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Jason D. Keener and his wife, Michele, of Las Vegas, Nevada; her three daughters, Melissa Krizon and her husband, Jesse, of Sandy Lake, Robin J. Phillips and her husband, Karl, of Franklin, and Ellisha Keener of Pittsburgh; and her twelve grandchildren, Kai Keener, Dane Keener, and Drew Keener, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tessa Williams, Trevor Williams, Trenton Williams, and Timothy Krizon, of Sandy Lake, Tanner Phillips, Kailey Phillips, and Brooklyn Phillips, of Franklin, and Emmy McGoughlin of Indiana, and Malarie Phillips, of Titusville. She is also survived by her brother, Jeff Ruege, of Zelienople; her sister, Carol Ruege, of Sandy Lake, her nieces, Jennifer Ruege of Pittsburgh, and Lisa Gonzales and her husband, Juan, of Arizona; her god child, Julie Wearing and her husband, Chad, of Zelienople; her best friend, Robin Williams and her husband, Terry, of Evans City; and her former husband, David Keener, of Utica. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her grandparents. Family and friends of Kathleen will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, May 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26, at 6:00 p.m., with Rev. Jonathan Bell, pastor of the Franklin Wesleyan Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Morrison Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs.
