Bert Thorpe

Bert Tharpe Bert Tharpe, of Polk, formerly of Cooperstown, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. Mr. Tharpe was born in Billings, Montana on March 31, 1929, and was the son of the late James L. and Nolana Nutt Tharpe. He was married to the former Dorothy J. Hoffman on June 23, 1963, and she preceded him in death. Mr. Tharpe was a United States Air Force Korean War Era Veteran. He retired in 1995 from Tharpe Bros. Construction, where he had been self-employed as a carpenter. Mr. Tharpe is survived by his niece, Coleen Beimer of Washington, and his friends, Irene and Glenn Hetzler, of Polk Graveside services for Mr. Tharpe will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Cooperstown Cemetery, with Rev. Andrew Cooley, pastor of God's Ministry Church, in Spring Mills, PA, officiating. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, is entrusted with arrangements.
