Marilyn Yurkanin, 75, of 1748 Old Route 322, Utica died Friday, January 14, 2011 at her residence. Born December 12, 1936 in Neodesha, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Blaine B. and Idabelle Kuhn. Marilyn delivered newspapers for the News Herald and the Derrick. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin. She was married to Louis Yurkanin. He preceded her in death October 28, 1984. She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Yurkanin and his wife, Shirley of Utica and Cory Yurkanin of Franklin; a brother, Blaine Kuhn and his wife, Jackie of Tionesta; a grandson, Travis Yurkanin of Utica; and her nieces and nephews, Dana and Matthew Rupprecht of St. Mary's and Darrin and Marla Kuhn of Upper St. Clair. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, is handling arrangements. A memorial service will held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Sugarcreek United Methodist Church, 443 Sugarcreek Drive, Franklin, with the Rev. David Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Franklin Public Library, 421 12th Street, Franklin PA 16323.
