Ruth E. Davis, 86, of Palm Hill Road, Polk, passed away at her residence at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Born in Pittsburgh on April 22, 1924, Ruth was the daughter of the late Henry F. and Almira Fisher Duncan. Ruth was married on June 28, 1947 to Stanley W. Davis. She was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during WWII as a teletype operator. Ruth was a member of the Fox Street Church of God. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and doing crafts. Ruth is survived by her husband, Stanley W. Davis; her four sons, David Davis of Seneca, Michael Davis and his wife, Mauren of King George, VA, Thomas Davis and his wife, Kimberly, of Polk, and Kenneth Davis and his wife, Shari, of Charleston, SC; her two daughters, Ruth Ann Noll of Pittsburgh, and Diane Crouse and her husband, Virgil of Jacksonville, Florida; and her eight grandchildren, Dustin Noll and his wife, Monica, Keith Noll, Emily, Evan, Deborah, Dean and Linda Davis, and Abigail Lance. She is also survived by her brother, John Duncan and his wife, Charlotte, of Bridgeville, PA; and her two sisters, Winifred Andromalos and Nancy Wohleber, all of Mechanicsburg, PA. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Westfall. A memorial service for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 5, at the Fox Street Church of God, with the Rev. Lonnie Wolford, pastor of the Church, officiating. Arrangements for Ruth are being handled by the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin.
