Jeraldine Katherine "Jerry" Kopchak Jeraldine Kopchak, 85, of 1130 Otter Street, Franklin, passed away at 10:55 a.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at UPMC Northwest. Born March 8, 1925 in Franklin, she was the daughter of the late Myron and Tillie O'Polka Kopchak. Jeraldine graduated from Franklin High School and Oil City Business College. She loved traveling and enjoyed attending live theatre performances. She was employed in the office of Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, prior to her retirement. She had also been employed with General Manifold & Printing Company and Miller Equipment Company. Jeraldine was a member of St. Patrick Church, where she was a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas - Court Saint Thomas #1483; a member of the Woman's Club of Franklin; and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Venango County. She volunteered for her Church and St. Patrick School, as well as for the Visiting Nurses of Venango County, Northwest Medical Center, the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, Community Services of Venango County, R.S.V.P., Northwest Legal Services, and UCIP'S Faith in Action. In December of 1993, the local newspapers conducted a "People Who Make A Difference" survey, and she and her sister, Virginia M. Kopchak, both received recognition for their volunteer work in the community. Surviving is one sister, Virginia M. Kopchak, of Franklin. Also surviving is an Aunt, Helen Maddox, of San Diego, California. She is also survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, who died on February 28, 1967, and her mother, who died on February 22, 1990. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church building Fund and/or the Charity of One's Choice. Friends may call at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church on Wednesday, October 27 at 12:00 p.m., with Msgr. John Herbein as celebrant.
