Obituary - Glenn Wallace Means . Glenn Wallace Means Sr., 86, of 1597 Pittsburgh Road, Franklin, died at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born Aug. 19, 1922, in New Wilmington, he was the son of David Marquis Means and Nellie Frankenburg Means. He married Gladys M. Gibson on Aug. 24, 1946, and she preceded him in death. He was the owner of Means Lumber. A proud lumberman in his 64th year of business, he delivered his last load of lumber to Franklin Steel last week. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot. Mr. Means was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Franklin. He was also a life member of Franklin Elks Lodge 110, where he served as past district deputy and state treasurer. He was also a member of the Franklin Eagles and Rainbow Sportsman's Club. Mr. Means was also active with Masonic organizations, and he was a 50-year member of Myrtle Lodge 316 and a member of the Masonic Valley of Oil City, Valley of New Castle and Zem Zem Temple. He is survived by three sons, Glenn Means Jr. of Franklin, David M. Means and his wife, Darlene, of Saegertown, and P. Scott Means and his wife, Jennifer, of Gilbert, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Michael L. Hanna of Polk, and Matthew E. Means and Nathan G. Means, both of Gilbert, Ariz.; three nieces, Jennifer Tenney and her husband, Paul, of Virginia, Christine Filipovic and her husband, Dennis, of Harrisburg, and Nancy Carson of Youngstown, Ohio; one nephew, William Carson and his wife, Sharon, of Tucson, Ariz.; and one great-niece, Elizabeth Filipovic of Harrisburg. He is also survived by a special friend, Ginny Snyder, of Franklin. He and Ginny went to all the Franklin sporting events together. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Means was preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh Everett Means and Paul Marquis Means; and one sister, Evelyn Means Carson. The Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin, is in charge of arrangements, and there will be no visitation hours. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Samuel T. Gibb of First Presbyterian Church of Franklin officiating. B.P.O.E. #110 will hold a service at 10:45 AM. Myrtle Lodge #316 F.& A.M. will conduct a service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded by the VETS Honor Guard of Franklin. Memorials may be made to the Kirtland Cancer Foundation, P.O.
