Obituary - Daisy J. Hazlett Daisy I. Hazlett, 89, formerly of Chestnut Street in Franklin, died at 10.45 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the Caring Place, 103 North 13th St., Franklin. Born April 18, 1920, she was the daughter of James C. Morrison and Lydia Flaugh, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married Aug. 27, 1954, to Earl Duane Hazlett, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Hazlett was a homemaker, and she enjoyed bingo and playing cards. She was a member of the American Legion auxillary. Survivors include a son, Robert J. Lockhart and his wife, Joyce, of Franklin; three daughters, Frances D. Johnston and her husband, Barry, of Whittier, Calif., Sharlene D. VanTassel and her husband, James, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Debra K. Barr and her husband, Joey, of Hickory, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Donahue of Erie and Nina Morrison of Franklin. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Jerry A. Hazlett Sr.; six brothers, Ken "Dynamite" Morrison, Orren James Morrison, Donald Morrison, Marvin "Loppy" Morrison, Kirk Morrison and Richard Morrison; six sisters, Isabelle Mulholland, Ann Seely, Mildred "Midge" Kuhn, Dora-Keener-Vogan, Nola Barnes and Gladys Morrison; and a special friend, Dick Chaffee. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Mrs. Hazlett's great-grandson, the Rev. Kevin Hazlett, pastor of Massillon Baptist Temple in Massillon, Ohio, officiating.   5. My thoughts are with all of you. I am Deb’s friend from NC. I have gone through a similar experience a few years ago with an aunt that was very dear to me. Sometimes it is hard to believe because everything happened so fast. Take comfort in knowing that it was her time and she was ready. May peace be with you now and in the future.
