Bonnie Jane Lewis, 80, of 318 Robin Drive, Franklin, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, in Christiana Hospital of Newark, Del. Born Sept. 22, 1928 in Akron, she was the daughter of Samuel William Cammack and Laura Jane Vaughan. She was married Sept. 24, 1949, to the Rev. Joseph Walter Lewis, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Franklin Christian & Missionary Alliance Church for 32 years and was actively involved in the activities in her church. She had a kind and gentle spirit and dedicated her life to serving the Lord and selflessly caring for others. She served faithfully along side her husband as a home missionary with the Southern Highland Evangelical Organization in both Kentucky and West Virginia and later, as a pastor's wife, ministered to Evangelical United Brethren churches in Sartwell Creek, Grimes, Tyronville and Buells Corners. She had worked at the Golden Dawn Supermarket in Pleasantville. She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Guinivan and her husband, Richard, of Wilmington, Del., and Christine Homich and her husband, John, of Camp Hill; five grandchildren, Eric Guinivan of Los Angeles, Kyle Guinivan of Minneapolis, Sean Guinivan of Wilmington, Del., and Andrew Homich and Laura Homich, both of Camp Hill; and a brother, Samuel Philip Cammack of Sierra City, Calif. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Roy Joseph Lewis. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Franklin Christian Missionary Alliance Church with the Rev. Scott Woodlee, the pastor of the church, officiating.
