Virginia N. Phillips, 85, of 351 Causeway Drive, Franklin, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at Sugar Creek Station in Franklin. Born Jan. 9, 1924, in Franklin, she was the daughter of Robert C. and Edna Baney Graham. She graduated in 1942 from Rocky Grove High School. She was married June 7, 1945, to Glenroy Phillips, who preceded her in death. She was employed as a catalogue manager for J.C. Penney. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Franklin Assembly of God. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Mrs. Phillips most enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Virginia "Giny Kay" Plummer and her husband, Norman, of Franklin; two grandchildren, Ginger Connor and her husband, Marc, of Polk, and Lee Plummer of Timpson, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Matthew Lee Plummer of Oil City, Lisa Plummer of Franklin, and Samantha N. Connor and Tessa R. Connor, both of Polk; two great-great grandchildren, Matthew Lee Plummer Jr. of Oil City and Chance Jene Ritchey of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Blake; and two brothers, Walter Graham and Robert E. Graham. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Mrs. Phillips' nephew, the Rev. Robert Graham, pastor of Nicklin United Methodist Church, officiating.
