Harry A. Haney Sr., 81, of Franklin, died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, in his home. Born Dec. 9, 1926, he was the son of Lawrence Haney and Luewella Haun. Mr. Haney was employed as a maintenance worker at Franklin Steel. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed collecting and restoring Bibles, collecting angels and stamps, his daily walks around the beautiful streets of Franklin, listening to Christian music and his beloved pet cat Snoopy. Mr. Haney was married April 15, 1950, to the former Evelyn Peterson, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Harry Haney Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Eleanor Moyer and her husband, Tim, of Franklin; five grandchildren, Patty Aaron and her husband, Rob, of Franklin, Larry Moyer and his wife, Maria, of Franklin, Jeff Haney and his wife, Christal, of Mansfield, Ohio, and Stacey and Stephanie Haney, both of Fort Pierce, Fla. Also surviving is a sister, Arlene Haggerty of Franklin; a brother, Paul Haney of Franklin; and five great-grandchildren, Sarah Haney of Fort Piece, Fla., Matthew, Brittany and Colton Aaron of Franklin; and Kaleb Moyer of Franklin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Haney was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Clarence and Lawrence Haney; and one sister, Donna Hughes. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc. in Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Chamberlain, retired pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the VNA Foundation Hospice.
