Henry Sherene, 73, of 4 Seneca St., Franklin, died at 9 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at The Caring Place. Born March 24, 1935, in Oil City, he was the son of Otis Sherne and Margaret Porter. Mr. Sherene was employed at Miller Equipment as a harness tacker and at Bud Erwin's Gas Station as a detailer. He attended Erie St. Church of God. He was a former member of Bethel AME Church. Mr. Sherene loved music and sports and was an avid Steelers fan. He is survived by two brothers, Joseph H. Sherene of Grove City and Kenneth E. Sherene and wife, Miriam, of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Fred Stevens, Drederick Stevens, Otis Sherene, Jr. and Charles Sherene; and sisters, Gladys Law and Agnes Butts. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., in Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Lora King-Adams of Erie Street Church of God officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Cemetery. Memorials can be made to The Caring Place or Erie St. Church of God, 306 Erie St., Franklin, 16323.
