Clyde Charles Jackson, age 78, of Grandview Group Home, died Monday, September 7, 2015 at his residence.A son of Lester W., Sr. and Edith Hale Jackson he was born December 14, 1936 in Franklin, PA.Mr. Jackson was a member of the Wilson Avenue Free Methodist Church.He attended Venango Training and Development Center for Life Skills.Clyde enjoyed riding in Police cars and Firetrucks.Surviving is his wife, Mary Jane Rapp Jackson of Oil City; two brothers, Norman Jackson of Athens, TX, Lester Jackson and wife Linda of Franklin; four nephews, Lester, Jeff, Luke, and Robert Jackson; and two nieces, April Jackson, Montene Burdette.He was preceded in death by his parents mentioned above; a brother, Walter Jackson; and sister-in-law, Anne Jackson.Friends will be received from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday with the Rev. Mark Rusnak, Aseracare Hospice Pastor, officiating. Interment will be made in Old Sandy Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Paws Animal Rescue, PO Box 784, Franklin, PA 16323.

  1. Clyde will be missed. I worked at Life Skills with Clyde for over 10 years. I loved his laugh. He’d also ask me if my Mom was in Heaven. I’d say “yes” and he’d say his Mom was in Heaven too. and then I’d say “And they are up there partying and then he’ laugh. In Prayer Karen Nason

    I will forever miss Clyde. He was part of our lives here at VTDC for many, many years. He will always be in my heart. What a wonderful personality and great person. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all of the support staff that became his community family. He was loved by all. Rest in peace Clyde

  3. I have many fond memories of Clyde at VTDC. I especially loved when he sold cookies and told us of his dream to be a police officer. Will miss him.
