Strelza Stants, 95, of Bradleytown Road, Cooperstown, passed away at 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Strelza Keas Stants was born April 29, 1918 in Cooperstown and was the daughter of Charles Leroy and Donna Brown Keas. She was married to Dale Stants November 1948. Dale Stants passed away April 1994. Strelza was a graduate of Franklin High School and Franklin Junior College and Business School. She had various jobs over the years. Among them were the Department of Public Assistance, Chicago Pneumatic Tool Co during WWII, office of Joy Manufacturing, Physicians Office in Meadville, Cooperstown Elementary School Cafeteria, Township Tax Collector and retired from Polk Center Pharmacy. Strelza enjoyed crocheting, gardening, picking blueberries and playing cards. She attended Cooperstown Charge - United Methodist Church and most recently Cooperstown Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two sons Dennis Stants, and Gary Stants and companion JoAnn Straub and her children Jake, Brandi and Kendall. Also surviving are brother Alfred Jay Keas of Florida, grandchildren Shaun Stants and Jason Stants, great grandson Dameon Carl Stants, step grandson William Bodnar Jr and three step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Elmer Keas, Gene Keas, sisters Florence Francisco, Mabel Lybarger and Alvena Snyder. Friends of Strelza will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, with Rev. Joseph Martin and Rev. Ken Hall co-officiating. Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery. In Strelza's memory, the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to the Kirtland Cancer Foundation, PO Box 108, Franklin, PA 16323.
