Craig E. Whitman, 49, of 3063 Lamberton Road, Franklin died at 2:10 PM ,March 07, 2013 at UPMC-Hamot in Erie. Born March 14, 1963 in Franklin, PA, Craig was the son of the late Harry and Bernice (Savugo) Whitman. On June 11, 2005 he married Darlene J. Heller, and she survives. Craig was employed as a Machinist for Time Machine. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, working with his hands, watching his son race dirt bikes. gardening, and riding his six wheeler. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Craig is survived by his son, Brian M. Whitman of Jackson Center; his step-daughter Mariah D. Frankenberger of Franklin; his step-son, Austin J. Frankenberger of Franklin; his brothers, James Whitman and his wife, Marion, of Franklin, David A. Whitman Sr. and his wife, Teresa, of Cochranton, Steve E. Whitman and his wife, Brenda, of Cochranton, and Eric M. Whitman and his wife, Diane, of Cooperstown; and his sisters, Bonnie L. Yeager and her husband, John, of Cooperstown, and Brenda J. Wyant and her husband, Craig, of Bradford. He is additionally survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his half sister Linda Mae Whitman A memorial service will be held at the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren in Christ Church on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM, with pastor Dustin Staples, youth pastor of the church officiating. A dinner and a time of fellowship will follow the service at 3:00 PM in the church social hall. Arrangements are being handled by the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Brian Whitman Trust Fund c/o PNC bank. I have know Craig for many years and i’m proud to say he was a great friend ! Craig was the kind of friend that made you feel at home with his sense of humor and his funny laugh, it was worth the visit to his house , or a visit from him ! I hope he has found the peace that he needed……. I will miss ya buddy ….
