Virginia Ginny M. Kemmerer, of Franklin, passed away at her residence on Monday, October 7th, following a lengthy illness. Born September 11, 1937 in Vandergrift, Ginny was the daughter of the later Harry L. and Irma M. Koonse McMillin. She was married June 18, 1960 to Jack A. Kemmerer, who survives. Ginny was a 1955 graduate of Rocky Grove High School. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin, and served as the Memorials Committee Secretary at the church. Ginny retired in 2001 after working 46 years as an Executive Secretary for Penn Dot. In 1985, she received a Meritorious Service Award, and in 1992 she received the Secretarys Award for Excellence from Penn Dot. She was a member and of Beta Sigma Phi, where at one time, she held the office of President. She was Kiwanianne, and held the office of President. Ginny also enjoyed traveling with her husband, and shopping. In addition to her husband, Ginny is survived by her sister, Geraldine Crozier of Martinez, CA; her nieces and nephew, Denise Anne Crozier of Berkley, CA, Richard J. Cozier of Castro Valley, CA, and William McMillin, Robert McMillin and Scott McMillin, all of Franklin; and her special cousin, Betsy Wendlek and her husband, Richard, of Harrisburg. In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her brother, Robert D. McMillin Family and friends of Ginny will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Wednesday, October 9 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Franklin on Thursday, October 10 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Jeff Little, pastor of the Church, officiating. Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1100 Liberty Street, Franklin PA 16323.          I am so sorry that I am not in not in Franklin to pay my respect to Ginny, and I am so sorry for your loss.  I know the past couple years have been a struggle for both of you. I have so many great memories of all the fun times our two families have had over the years.  You and Ginny were always like family to us.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Jay and I just wanted to pass on our sympathy and to let you know that we are thinking of you at this time.  Ginny was very special to me growing up as were you.  Just like second parents.  We hope at this time that you find comfort in all the wonderful memories you have of your travels and many years of marriage.

  5. So sorry to hear of your loss of Ginny. We are in Ireland with our daughter Sarah and saw the notice in the News Herald. Ginny was always so upbeat and pleasant, we always enjoyed her company. We are sure you will miss her greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
