Charles L Shouey, 75, of 1479 Two Mile Run Road ,Franklin died at 5:50 AM ,March 07, 2013 at UPMC-Northwest Seneca. Born January 23, 1938 in Franklin, PA, Charles was the son of the late John and Lena B. (Hoffman) Shouey. On July 11, 1959 he married Carol L. Barker, and she preceded him in death on May 18, 1999. Charles proudly served his country as a member of the Army Reserves. He was employed at Joy Manufacturing for 35 years as a maintenance employee and retired from there in 2000. Mr. Shouey was a member of the Lupher Chapel Church. Charles was a member of the Myrtle Lodge #316. He enjoyed listening to the Pine Valley Boys, Blue Grass music, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his great-grandchildren. Charles is survived by his son, Charles A. Shouey of Bechtelville, PA; his daughters, Brenda Graham and her husband, Christopher, and Susan Coxson, both of Franklin; his sisters, Ruth Wheeler and her husband, William, of Franklin, Paige Shouey, and Berdena Staaf. He is also survived by his special friend, Jane Daily, of Utica. He is additionally survived by his grandchildren, Michael l. Graham and his wife, Amy, of Oil City, Chad J. Graham of Franklin, Ryan C. Graham of Franklin, Jacob S. Shouey of Bechtelville, PA, Stephanie M. Coxson of Franklin, Daniel B. Coxson of Franklin, and Tyler Shouey of Bechtelville, PA; and his great-grandchildren, Luke Graham, Averie Graham, Caleb Coxson, and Caden Coxson. In addition to his parents and wife, Charles is preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Glass and June Lake; and his brothers, James, John, and William Shouey. Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Sunday, March 10th, 2013, from 2:00PM - 6:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 11th, 2013 at Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Henrietta Serrins retired pastor of the Lupher Chapel Church, officiating. Interment will be in Peters Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Franklin Public Library, 421 12th Street, Franklin, PA 16323. Dear Brenda, Chuck & Sue – I am so sorry to hear about “Uncle Chuck’s” passing.  I know the pain & hurt you are going through, take solace in the fact that he is in a better place.  I saw him on occasion in passing and he was always such a jolly guy!  I know he will be missed & loved always by so many.  You have my deepest sympathy.  Take care & God Bless.  RIP Uncle Chuck.

    We are so sorry to hear of Uncle Chuck’s passing.  I will remember him fondly.  He was a good man, always uplifting to be around and set such a good example for us all.  I am comforted in the knowing that he is with Dad and Uncle Bill now cutting up and talking about fishing, hunting and their kids, grandkids, & great grandkids.  May God’s healing hand be on you all during this time of great loss.
