L. Pearl Baum, 87, formerly of Cedar Street, Franklin died at 9:30 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Sugar Creek Station. Born November 07, 1925 in Franklin, PA, Pearl was the daughter of the late Clarence and Lyda Mae Haggerty Turner. She was married to Earl J. Baum on December 16, 1947 , and he preceded her in death in 2004. Pearl was employed in the food service department at Polk Center for over 18 years until her retirement on November 12, 1985. She was also employed as a mail carrier of Joy Manufacturing for 5 years. She was a member of the Fox Street Church of God in Rocky Grove, where she was an active member of the Missionary Society. She also enjoyed puzzles and crocheting. Mrs. Baum is survived by her son, Carl Baum, and his wife Evelyn Fryman of Harrisville; two daughters, Marcia Fulmer and her husband, Curt of Phoenix, AZ, and Donna Burgard and her husband, Walt of Franklin; a brother, Bryon Royal Turner of Elko, Nevada; and three sisters, Betty Hoffman of Franklin, Cleo Deeter of Tidioute, and Hazel Whitcomb of Franklin. She is additionally survived by her 3 grandchildren, Jimmy Baum and his wife, Weatherly of Phoenix, AZ, Kristi King of Franklin, and Dustin King of Franklin; her step-grandchildren, Jason Fulmer and his wife, Sadie of Franklin, Keith (Bundy) Fulmer and his wife, Meghan of Franklin, Mary Fryman of Montclair, NJ, Robert Fryman and his wife, Mary of Butler, Bonnie (Fryman) McClaine and her husband, Bryan of Eau Claire, and Elizabeth (Fryman) Baker and her husband, Tony of Harrisville; her great-grandson, C.J. Fry, Jr. of Franklin; and her step-great-grandchildren Easton Fulmer of Franklin, Brady Fulmer of Franklin, Kala Fryman of Baltimore, MD, Corey McClaine of Pittsburgh, Ian Baker of Harrisville, Hannah Fryman of Butler, Rebekah Fryman of Butler, Arron Baker of Harrisville, Sarah Baker of Harrisville, Keenan McClaine of Eau Claire, and Faith McClaine of Eau Claire. In addition to her parents and husband, as listed above, Pearl was preceded in death by her brother, James Turner and her sister, Laura Lepley. Family and friends of Pearl will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 , from 3-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Randy Kightlinger, Chaplain of VNA of Venango County Hospice, officiating. Interment will take place in Bethel Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Fox Street Church of God Missionary Society, 229 Fox Street, Franklin, PA 16323.     I am so sorry to hear about your Beloved Mom’s passing.  I had the opportunity to see and talk to her when I was in the Franklin area over the summer.  I so enjoyed the time that we had.
