Mary Ritha Smith Mary Ritha Smith, 91, of 351 Causeway Drive, Franklin, passed away at 12:35 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at Sugar Creek Station, where she had resided for the past several years. Born June 27, 1920, in Franklin, Mary was the daughter of the late William J. and Fairy Morris Emerson. She was married January 22, 1942, to Kenneth C. Smith, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 1965. Mrs. Smith was Protestant. She retired from Electralloy Corp. of Oil City on June 30, 1985, where she had worked as a payroll clerk. Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Michael Allan Smith and his wife, Dora, of Yazoo City, MS; and her four grandchildren, Michael Kenneth Smith, Rhoda Renee Smith, Peter James Smith, and Charissa Jane Smith; and her 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Howard Roy Emerson, and her sister, Louise Nixon. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her brother, William Blaine Emerson; and her brother-in-law, William Nixon. There will be no visitation for Mrs. Smith.
