Harley Rust, Jr. Harley John "Jug" Rust, Jr., 83, of Franklin, passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born July 31, 1928 in Butler, Harley was the son of the late Harley John and Catherine Nancy Johnson Rust, Sr. Harley was a Korean War Era Airforce Veteran having served from June 1, 1948 until June 3, 1952. He was retired from IBEW Local #712 in 1987 where he worked as a Journeyman Electrician. Harley was married on June 14, 1958 to the former Evelyn Dalmaso. Harley was a life-time member of V.F.W. Jesse Greer Post, and a former member of the Franklin Moose, Eagles, and Elks. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, sports and word puzzles. He was a one-time charter member of the Sandycreek Volunteer Fire Department. Harley especially cherished the times he spent with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Harley is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his son, Timothy Wayne Rust and his wife, Michele, of Franklin; and his daughters, Jodi Lynne Donley and her husband, Norman F. , of Loudonville, Ohio, and Sue Anne Bloom and her husband, Kris, of Oil City. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sharlene Miller and her husband, Charles, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; Nathan Donley and his fiancee', Kristin Kamenik, of Loudonville, Ohio; John Stahlman of Oil City; and Dylan Rust and Amber Rust, both of Franklin; and his great-grandchild, Natalya Miller. Harley is additionally survived by his sisters, Margaret Jane Soboleski and her husband, Joseph, of Front Royal, Virginia; Edith Lorraine Rust of Franklin; and Norma Jean Keverline and her husband, Kenneth, of Greenville. In addition to his parents, Harley was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley "Jim" Rust, who was killed in WWII, and Kenneth Rust; and his sister, Virginia Barker. Family and friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Friday, December 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, December 10 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Johnny Pennington, pastor of the Congress Hill Church of God, officiating.
