Sandra W. Tarr Sandra W. Tarr, 65, of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2010 at Roper St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Born September 8, 1945, in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruth Bargar Waclaski. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and Clarion University. She was married to Rod Tarr on June 19, 1965. Early in her career, Sandy held numerous counselor and supervisory positions with the County of Venango. In 1989, she and her husband moved to the Carolinas, where she pursued and received a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of South Carolina. She served as a Social Worker for the State Hospital of South Carolina in Columbia and was also an Emergency Room Social Worker at Richland Memorial Hospital. Upon returning to Franklin in 1999, Sandy served as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for Community Services of Venango County until her retirement in 2006. In 2007, she and her husband retired to Pawleys Island, where she enjoyed the nearby beach, the pool at Rose Run, shopping outlets, and spending time with many newly-made friends and her faithful companion, a Chihuahua named Bubba. Sandy is survived by her husband, Rod Tarr; a daughter, Tammy McClurkin of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; and a son, Brad Tarr of Charlotte, North Carolina. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Daniel, Patrick and Colin McClurkin. In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her sister, Sally Lou Waclaski. Friends may call at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Sunday, November 7 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services for Sandy will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, November 8 at 11 a.m. , with the Rev. Rob Wilson of the Seneca United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Garden.
