Cindy Shawgo Daniels Cindy Shawgo Daniels, of Oil City, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 4:16 a.m. at her residence after a battle with lung cancer which she valiantly fought with great strength and dignity. Born on April 24, 1961 in Oil City, Cindy was the daughter of the late Todd and Evelyn Pastorius Shawgo. She was married in 1980 to Ricky D. Harrelson, who survives and resides in North Carolina. In 1993, she then married Mark D. Daniels, who also survives and resides in Erie. Cindy had been employed at The Caring Place as a Personnel Care Aide prior to her illness. She enjoyed collecting porcelain shoes and butterflies; and most of all, cooking for and spending time with her family. Cindy is survived by her two daughters, Shanon McCauley and her husband, James, of Franklin, and Ashley Westfall of Oil City. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, James McCauley III, Creena Baker, Tyler McCauley and Meghan McCauley; her brother, Rick Shawgo, of Akron, PA, and his companion, Tracey; her nephews, Gregory Allen, Luke, Josey, Robert Shawgo II and Todd Shawgo; a great niece, great nephew, and a great-great niece; and her sisters-in law, Jan Shawgo of Franklin, Royanna Snow of Oil City and Dee Dee Bouse of Sagertown. Additionally, Cindy is survived by her best friend (her "advocate" & "secretary") of 22 years, Cindy Manning; her friends and caregivers, Ronald Wise and Christine Poindexter of Oil City, Meka Heffern of Franklin, and Tessa Brick of Mercer; and her childhood friends, Connie Glass and Justine Emmert. In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her son, Rickey E. Harrelson; and her two brothers, Robert Shawgo and William Shawgo. Friends may call at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin on Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral Services for Cindy will be held on Saturday, September 11 at 4 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Linda Deeter, Chaplain of The Caring Place, presiding. The family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the Gardinier Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs. So sorry to hear of the passing of Cindy. We were friends back in grade school and both lived on Hiland Ave. in Oil City. I have good memories of her.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the girls and her entire family. We were neighbor’s of Cyndy’s for many years on 6th Street in Franklin. She was a wonderful mother and friend.
