William D. Wood William D. Wood, 56, of 616 10th Street, Franklin, passed away at his residence at 10:33 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2010. Born April 13, 1954, in Franklin, he was the son of the late Robert B. and Marjorie Irene Moyer Wood, Sr. Mr. Wood had been employed as a meat cutter for Giant Eagle for over 10 years prior to his illness. He was a member of the Franklin Eagles and enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, cooking and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Wood is survived by his son, James. R. Wood, and his wife, Bridget; and his grandchildren, Tyus Wood, Jalen Wood and Alexis McVay, all of Franklin. He is also survived by his three brothers: Robert B. Wood, Jr. and his wife, Patty, of Okachobee, Florida; Gary L. Wood and his wife, Pat, of Franklin; and Ronald E. Wood and his wife, Diana, of Greenville; and his sister, Pamela Pritts and her husband, Howard, of Franklin. A Memorial Service for Mr. Wood will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene in Franklin on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 5:00 p.m., with the Rev. David Smith, pastor of the Church, presiding. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in Franklin. The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, is handling arrangements. My thoughts and prayers go out to my family for the loss of their dad, grandpa, and brother. Bill was a great guy and even though I haven’t seen him in a few years, he would always say hello and we would pick up where we left off. He is no longer suffering and is now at peace with the Lord. You know mom and the family that went before us is up there, Bill. So don’t raise too much kaine together! Until we see each other again…
