Verna M. Suttle Verna M. Suttle, 80, of 351 Causeway Drive, Franklin, passed away at 12:55 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Sugar Creek Station, where she had resided for the past several years. Born December 25, 1929, in West Monterey, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Raymond and Violet Elsie Wyant Shearer. She was married to Calvin Claus Suttle on September 2, 1949 and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Suttle had attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She enjoyed her activities at Sugar Creek Station, and loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Suttle is survived by her 2 sons, Calvin Suttle and his wife, Darlene; and Roger Suttle and his wife, Darlene, all of Franklin; and her 2 daughters, Judy Klawuhn and her husband, Robert, of Franklin; and Lisa McCune and her husband, William, of Utica. She is also survived by her 3 brothers, Jerry Shearer of San Francisco, California; Donald Shearer and his wife, Audrey, of Butler; and Ronald Shearer of Tampa, Florida; and her 4 sisters, Naomi Burkhardt and her husband, Charles, of Franklin; Wilma Richey and her husband, Dudley, of Butler; Peggy Chambers and her husband, Eric, of Waco, Texas; and Arlene Kittner and her husband, Dave, of Parker. Additionally, Mrs. Suttle is survived by her 9 grandchildren, Amy Brown and her husband, Wade, of Cooperstown; Rebecca Suttle of Franklin; Jodi Lawson and her husband, Larry, of Oil City; Kevin Swartz and his wife, Denise, of Franklin; Tracy Baker and her husband, Travis, of Franklin; Angie Swartz of Oil City; Mathew Suttle of Cooperstown; Roby Suttle of Franklin; and James Suttle of Sharon; her 17 great-grandchildren; and her 1 great-greatgrandchild. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Suttle was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Shearer; and her sister, Ruby Suttle. Friends may call at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, October 7 from 3 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services for Mrs. Suttle will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, October 8 at 11 a.m. with Dr. John Seth, pastor of Galloway United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Brandon Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Sugar Creek Station Activities Fund, 351 Causeway Drive, Franklin PA 16323.
