Walter "Jim" J. Kozella, Jr.,67, of 183 Apple St., Franklin, died at 10:47 am Saturday, October 11, 2008 at his residence. Born Feb. 11, 1941, in Franklin, he was a son of Walter J. Kozella Sr. and Mary Koziara Kozella. A veteran, Mr. Kozella served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was married March 15, 1997 to Karen Wilson, who survives. Survivors also include three children, Steven Kozella and Kim Kozella, both of Troy, VA, and Denise Kochler of Richmond, Va,; four step-children, Mark Moore, Michael Moore & his wife, Jennifer, Richard Bergin and Shelly Moore, all of Franklin; and a grandchild, Kayla Kozella. Also surviving are a sister, Joan Harrington & her husband, Dan of Oklahoma City, OK, and a brother, Larry Kozella & his wife, Debra, of Armory, Miss., and several step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Private visitation at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home and funeral services at St. Patrick Church with Deacon Walter Jones officiating will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the VNA Foundation Hospice. Condolences may be sent online at www.gardinierfuneralhome.com.
