George F. Boal III George F. Boal III, 82 of 519 Lakecreek Road, Cooperstown, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born November 26, 1927 in Cooperstown, he was the son of the late George F. Boal Jr. and the late Marion Borger. He was married June 5, 1949 to Wanda Eiseman who survives. He was employed as a Boaring Mill Operator for Chicago Pneumatic Tool for 20 years; worked as a machinist for Oilwell Supply for 15 years; worked as a guard for Joy Manufacturing; worked as an assembler at Liberty Electronics; was an attendant for the Blind Association at numerous Rest Areas; owned his own service station in Oil City; was the owner of George Boal Excavating; was the head mechanic at Shannon-Hawke Pontiac in Oil City; and was also a self-employed logger and a grave digger for Cooperstown Cemetery. George was a member of Cooperstown Presbyterian Church. He was a life-time member of the Jesse Greer VFW Post 185 in Franklin; a member of the Franklin Moose Club 83; and was also an avid NASCAR Fan. In addition to his wife, George is survived by his two sons, Brian L. Boal and his wife, Janet of Cooperstown, Randy G. Boal and his wife, Dianna of Cochranton; and his two daughters, Theresa Longwell of Franklin, and Barbara Doyle and her husband, Randy of Utica. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren, Howard Stone and his wife, Rebecca of Clintonville, Jim Hinds and his wife, Rita of Albemarle, North Carolina,Tricia Morrison of Franklin, Randy Bickel of Cochranton, Amanda Boal of Cochranton, Emily Boal of Cochranton, Jessica Bodien of Utica, Wendy Wiggins of Franklin, Kevin Wiggins of Franklin, William Wiggins Jr. and his wife, Diana of Franklin, Michael Wiggins of Utica, and Cody Doyle of Utica. George is also survived by his three great-grandchildren, R. Emily Stone of Clintonville, J. Kristian Hinds of Albemarle, North Carolina, and Arianna Miller of Franklin. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his son, Donald E. Boal; his grandson, Michael Bodien; and his son-in-law, Gale Longwell. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 29 at the Gardinier Funeral Home Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 30 at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Borger, minister of the Titusville First Baptist Church, presiding. Interment will follow in Cooperstown Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the local VETS Honor Guard. Memorial may be made to the Kirkland Foundation, P.O. Box 108, Franklin PA 16323.
