Yvonne E. Strain Yvonne E. Strain passed away Thursday evening on May 14, 2009 in her home in Franklin. She died of complications due to ovarian cancer. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Dennis P. Strain, whom she married on April 5, 1963. She is also survived by her son, Jonathan Strain and his wife, Michelle Strain; a daughter, Teresa Tackett and her husband, Duanne Tackett; 10 brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was Co-owner of Strain's Refuse Service. Yvonne was a zealous member of the Franklin Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She loved to be involved in the "door-to-door" ministry, sharing her hope from the Bible. A Memorial Service for Yvonne is planned for Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Franklin Kingdom Hall, 1410 Pittsburgh Road. The Service will be conducted by Bruce Mitcham, an elder of the Franklin Congregation and a long-time friend of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, P. O. Box 1026, Franklin PA 16323. The Gardinier Funeral Home Inc. of Franklin is in charge of arrangements.   1. Dennis and Family, I was very sorry to read of Yvonne’s passing. I will long remember her as a person who would great you with a big smile. She was a joy to have as a friend. I am sure she will be missed but she is in a better place. My thought are with you all. Miriam Myers and Family.

  7. Dennis, Teresa and Jonathan: We’re devastated to hear about Yvonne’s passing. Good memories will help deal with the grief. How nice it was to have a hot bowl of her turkey soup on a cold day when Teresa and I got back from Julie’s in Alabama. She can tell me how she made it when she gets back. Til then I guess we’ll all have to depend on Jehovah endless power to get us through.
