Judith A Shouey

Judith A. Shouey, 58, of 712 McCalmont St., Franklin, died at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at UPMC Northwest, Seneca. Born March 6, 1951, in Titusville, she was a daughter of Francis J. and Joan Wagner Slater. Mrs. Shouey was employed by Sears Portrait Studio. She enjoyed reading, listening to Statler Brothers music, talking to relatives and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She was married Nov. 1, 1974, to Robert Reid Shouey, who survives. Survivors also include her mother, Joan Wagner Slater of Rocky Grove; a son and his wife, Todd and April Shouey of Seneca; and three grandchildren, Haylee Emick, Samatha Shouey and Robert Shouey, all of Seneca. Also surviving are three sisters, Linda Hefferman and her fiance, Jay Master, of Rocky Grove, Cheryl Beightol and her husband, Randy, of Franklin, and Janice Griswold and her husband, James, of Rocky Grove; and a brother, Francis "Joe" Slater of Rocky Grove. Survivors also include a special aunt, June Kelly of Rocky Grove; nieces and nephews, Melissa Beightol of Franklin, Michelle Burchanowski and husband, Chris, of Franklin, Jamie Hefferman and wife, Heather, of Rocky Grove, Christopher Faller and fiancee, Leia Bavuso, of Rocky Grove, Ashleigh Morrow of Franklin, Brendan Faller of Rocky Grove, Ryan Hefferman of Rocky Grove, Amber Slater of Rocky Grove, and Alyssa Slater of Rocky Grove; three great-nieces; two great-nephews; and numerous other aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis J. Slater; and a brother-in-law, Fred Hefferman. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Pat Ellis of Heckathorn United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Lupher Chapel Cemetery.








I shall always cherish the fun times we had as we both worked at Sears. You are such a beautiful person and I will miss maybe running into you as I go shopping. I will see Linda but I will miss you dearly. I know I will see you again someday and until then please rest in peace and God be with you and your family. Joyce Manson
Cheri, Randy & family. We are very saddened by Judy’s passing. It is so very hard to lose someone so close to you. Just know, you are in our thoughts and prayers. I don’t think time heals all, I think we just learn how to handle the pain better. One never knows when our time is up. Take care and all our love and prayers are with all of you.
