Clifford L. Say, 67, of 138 Oakwood Drive, Lot 201, Franklin, died at 3:16 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born July 30, 1942, in Franklin, he was the son of Ronald A. Say Sr. and Dora H. Collingwood. Mr. Say worked as a machinist for several local companies. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during peacetime. Mr. Say was a member of the VFW Jesse G. Greer Post No. 1835 of Franklin and the Franklin Moose Club. He enjoyed NASCAR and the Steelers. Surviving are his fiancee, Pamela J. Carter of Franklin; four children, Michael L. Say of Rockland, William R. Say and his wife, Deborah, of Virginia Beach, Va., Brenda E. Whitling of Rockland and Jeannie L. Campbell and her husband, Ray, of Tampa, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. Survivors also include two sisters, Gladys V. Lem and her husband, Louie, of Cabot, Ark., and Patricia A. Seber and her husband, Charles, of Cabot, Ark.; and two brothers, Richard E. Say and his wife, Marcia Blair, of Polk, and Ronald A. Say Jr. of Apoka, Fla. Also surviving are Pamela's four daughters, one son and 15 grandchildren. He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Sternes officiating. Interment will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. The VETS Honor Guard will accord full military honors at the cemetery on a future date. Cliff and I were good friends many years ago. He was like a brother to me. I am so sorry for your loss, he was a wonderful friend.
