Mary S. Kozalla, 89, 103 North 13th St., Franklin, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2008, at The Caring Place. Born Aug. 9, 1918, in Dunkirk, N.Y., she was the daughter of Laurence and Julia Kochamczyk Koziara. Mrs. Kozalla was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. She was married May 23, 1938, to Walter J. Kozalla Sr. Mrs. Kozalla is survived by three children, Walter James Kozella and wife Karen of Franklin, Larry Kozella and wife Mary Debra of Armory, Miss., and Joan Harrington and husband Dan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Tim Harrington and wife Paula of Ada, Okla., Michelle Harrington Smith and husband Terry of Ft. Worth, Texas, Kristi Harrington Taber and husband Mike of Conroe, Texas, Daniel Kozella of Armory, Jennifer Kozella Jordan of Suffolk, Va., Laura Kozella Crow of Conway, Ark., Kim Kozella and Denise Rockler, both of Va. and Stephen Kozella and wife Alison, also of Virginia; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Carl Smith of Brookville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Adolph, George, John and Stanley Koziera; a sister, Sophie E. Aikens; and a granddaughter, Anita Harrington Kouplan. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin. A Christian wake service will be at 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Franklin, with the Rev. Matthew Ruyechan of St. Stephen Church, officiating.
