Ruth M. Coffey, 82, of 1288 Belmar Road, Franklin, died at 1:59 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at UPMC in Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 24, 1926, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Clarence George Ritchey and Eleanor L. Phenicie. She was married May 10, 1946, to Eugene S. Coffey, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Coffey worked from 1947 to 1966 as a secretary at Joy Manufacturing, until retiring after 19 years of service. She was a member of the Cooperstown Evangelistic Tabernacle, enjoyed attending church and camp meetings and liked reading the Bible. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and traveling. She is survived by her mother, Eleanor Ritchey of Franklin; a daughter, Bonnie Reed of Franklin; two grandchildren, Aleta Shultz and husband, Joseph, of Taiwan and Paul Edward Reed Jr. and wife, Jen, of Danville, Ky.; and seven sisters, Nancy Ditzenberger of Franklin, Doris Ducasse of Stockton, Calif., Jean Keith and husband, Virgil, of Franklin, Betty Gordon of Franklin, Patricia Willyoung and husband, Lawrence, of Franklin, Janet Wilson and husband, Ken, of Volcano, Calif. and Mary Jane Crawley of Franklin. She is also survived by four brothers, Wayne Ritchey and wife, Billie Lee, of Cooperstown, Merle Ritchey and wife, Anna, of Franklin, Fredrick Ritchey of Meadville and Paul Ritchey and wife, June, of Dayton, Ohio; and five great-grandchildren, Keegan, Dugan and Zoe Reed of Danville, Ky. and Kelly and Jason Beers of Danville, Ky. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cooperstown Evangelistic Tabernacle with the Rev. Mark Fultz, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be held in the Graham Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cooperstown Evangelistic Tabernacle, Main Street, Cooperstown, 16317.
