Wilbur C. "Bud" Greathouse, 86, of Meadville, passed away, Thursday, February 3, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 7, 1935 in Black Ash, Pennsylvania a son of Forest Greathouse and Bernice Walls Greathouse. He married Alberta J. Taylor on August 29, 1969. She survives. Bud attended Randolph East Mead School and served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed for over 38 years until his retirement, with the Erie Lackawanna Railroad and Conrail. Bud was a member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #111, and Senior Bowling League. He enjoyed collecting bears, John Deere toys, but most of all he enjoyed helping others, and time with his family. In addition to his loving wife, Alberta; he is survived by the daughters, Cheryl Smith of Saegertown, Shelly Munsterman of Louisiana, and Renee Potosky and her husband Adam of North Carolina; four sons, Robert Woodrow and his wife Sherry of Conneaut Lake, Russell Woodrow and his wife Rhonda of Meadville, Ronald Woodrow and his companion Emma Bonanno of Meadville, and Arthur Greathouse of Frenchtown; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Marian Hickman of Meadville; a brother in law, Gordon Sprenkle of Black Ash; lifetime friend, Ben Grant; his honorary children, Richard Coleman and Betty Jean Rich; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two sons, Tom and Mike Greathouse; a granddaughter, RaeAnna Maillard; a great granddaughter, Chloe Dennis; a sister, Ellen Sprenkle; a brother in law, Ralph Hickman, and a son in law, Robert Munsterman. Private burial and services will take place at a later date. The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful people at Aseracare Hospice, Saint Vincent Hospital, and all our healthcare workers during this difficult time.
