Linda Wasson

August 25, 1939 ~ October 3, 2021
Born in: Meadville, Pennsylvania
Linda Wasson, 82, of Meadville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Meadville Medical Center.
Born August 25, 1939 in Meadville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Regina (Lasko) Kimple. On November 25, 1961, she married the love of her life, Layton B. Wasson (aka “Popeye” and “Rocky”); he preceded her in death on January 10, 2016.
Linda was a graduate of the Spencer School of Nursing and throughout her professional career, she could be found at the Meadville Medical Center, being a loving nurse to the newborns and parents in the Labor and Delivery Department.
In her spare time, Linda enjoyed the company of her family, friends, and community. She was a member of the VWF Meadville Auxiliary and attended the St. Brigid’s Roman Catholic Church. The memories of the many moments spent with her friends and family, numerous cruises, or the simpleness of her birdwatching, playing cards, and enjoying a fun game will be forever held dear in the hearts of all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Matt Wasson and his wife, Julie, of Meadville; her daughter, Missy Askey and her husband, Rick, of Conneautville; her six grandchildren, Blaine Wasson, Evan Wasson, Nichole Wasson, Ashley Wasson, Seth Askey, and Cole Askey; her great-grandson, Crue; her brother, Chuck Kimple and his wife, Karen, of Waterford; and her sister, Carrol Hites of Meadville.
In addition to her parents and husband, Linda was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wasson.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Funeral services for Linda will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 7, 2021 beginning at 11 am, with Pastor Nate Alsdorf officiating.
She will be laid to rest in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
