Robert James Silvis

Robert James Silvis, 77, Guys Mills, passed away, Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Roswell Park Cancer Center. He was born on July 28, 1943 in Pittsburgh, a son of Harry Silvis and Eleanor Nichols Silvis. He married Linda Hannon. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2016. He was a graduate of Eisenhower High School and also attended Edinboro University. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy, which he served for 21 years. Robert was a member of American Legion Post 205 in Saegertown and the VFW of Titusville. He enjoyed music, singing, racing, playing the drums, traveling, and camping. Robert is survived by his fiancé, Beverley Myers of Guys Mills; a daughter, Kimberly Ferguson (Tom), daughter from his previous wife, Joyce Kuhlman; a son, Scott Silvis (Nora) of Cochranton; grandchildren, Shana, T.J., Ashley, Tyler, Taylor, Noah, Abigail, Lindsay, Adriana, Andrew, and Addison; great grandchild, Elizabeth; sisters, Nellie Matve of Union City, Karen Bump (David) of Corry, Alyce Higby (Rick) of Erie, Gloria Zuendel (Don) of Spartansburg; brothers, Ralph Silvis (Faith) of Sugar Grove, LaVerne Silvis of Bear Lake, Charles Silvis of Spartansburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Linda Silvis; granddaughter, Natasha Ferguson; brothers, Harry Silvis and Gary Silvis; and sister, Darlene "Dee" Atchley. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Robert's memory to Randolph Fire Department, 11475 PA-198, Guys Mills, Pennsylvania 16327.
