I had the pleasure of working right across the hall from Jim for 8 years. As you stated, he would do anything for others. He was my rock during my years as a special education teacher. He always had my back, cared about students as if they were his own children, and when the worst days presented themselves I knew I could count on him for a good laugh or an ear to complain to. I am so thankful that I learned from Jim what it means to be a great mentor and colleague. I am better for having known him and I know many others that were blessed enough to cross his path feel the same. I am incredibly sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim was an awesome guy. I was so happy to see him recently talking about all the fun he was having. I had the pleasure of seeing him interact with both his children and grandchildren and always took note the firm but loving way he had with them. My prayers go out to Sam and the family.
Dr. Myers, so sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
Jim had a profound impact on the community he worked in, the people he spoke to, and those he came into contact with. When Jim retired he left a hole in our staff at Iroquois. We all missed having someone to laugh with, vent to, and debate with. Jim stuck to who he was, and when he retired that void, in our building, was felt and was never filled. I can only imagine the hole in all of your lives that his passing has left. My prayers and sympathies go out to his family. Jim was one of a kind and he will be missed.
Sam and family I am so sorry for your loss.
Jim was a great guy and I am proud to say he was a friend. He was so sweet and loved you so much. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Dr. Myers,
So sorry for your loss. I’ll be praying for you and your family during this time.

Mr. Myers was one of the best teachers I ever had during my time at Iroquois. His patience, friendliness, sense of humor and passion for teaching is what made him such an incredible teacher. His belief in me pushed me to be a better student and gave me the confidence I needed to be successful in high school, college and, ultimately, graduate school. I truly wouldn’t be where I am today without Mr. Myers. He will be greatly missed, and his friends and family will be in my thoughts.
Sam:
Through the years I worked with him, Jim was always such a support to me. He was my sounding board, my devil’s advocate, and always the person who validated what I believed about special education. I watched what he did for/with our kids, and he was amazing. That last half year I worked without him, I so missed this support. I was honored to have worked with him. He was my most trusted colleague and a dear, dear friend. My thoughts have been with you and your family; through our conversations, I know how much you all meant to him.
