Larry L. Greathouse

MEADVILLE - Larry Lynn Greathouse, 66, of Meadville, passed away surrounded by his family, on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center. He was born on November 4, 1951 in Union City, PA, a son of Floyd and Claudius Bromley Greathouse. On August 12, 2006 he married, Darlene Peterson, she survives. He was a 1970 graduate of Townville High School. After graduation he served his country with the United States Army. He worked for Abex for 18 years, Advanced Cast, and Hodge Foundry for 20 years. He occasionally attended Watson Run Church of God with his family. He was a member of Vernon Central Fire Department, VFW Post 2006, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 868. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, building, going to his camp with Jeff and Kevin, riding his four wheeler, spending time with family and dogs, watching game shows, and Ford automobiles. Along with his wife, Darlene, he is survived by four daughters, Marci Lynn Dyer and her husband Marvin of Guys Mills, Leah Marie Greathouse and her fiancé, Justin Stafford of Greenville, Alicia Diane Greathouse and her companion, Geoff Hall of Meadville, and Jennifer Lee Greathouse of Meadville; one son, Cory James Greathouse and his fiancé, Desiree Jordan of Meadville; grandchildren, Halie M. Stafford of Phoenix, AZ, Darin A. Free of Guys Mills, Bella M. Jordan, Joseph G. Jordan, Kade J. Greathouse, Kinsley M. Greathouse all of Meadville; two sisters, Eleanor Burger and her husband Ralph and Darlene Snyder and her husband Audie, all of Cambridge Springs; two brothers, Joe Greathouse and his wife, Bonnie of Union City and Jeff Greathouse and his companion, Julie Patterson of Centerville; his dogs, Dixie, Missy and Layla; granddogs, Lilly Ann, Bananie and Chloe Bo; his identical twin's sons, Dave, Kevin and Travis Greathouse; a mother in law, Nola Peterson; four sister in laws, Mary Ann Wilcox, Shirley Hanes and her husband Jack, Martha Harned and her husband Donald, and Cathy Dilley and her husband Kenny; two borther in laws, Bob Peterson, Jr. and his wife Robin and Eddie Peterson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his identical twin brother, Garry Lee Greathouse; brother, Floyd Herbert Greathouse; nephew, Daniel Joseph Greathouse, Jr.; and his dog, Cassie Lee. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
