John Kostolansky

John Kostolansky, 98, passed away on January 26, 2018 at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, PA.
John was born on July 18, 1919, to John and Mary Kostolansky (Later Mary Jagiolka) in Belle Vernon, PA. He married his wife, Ruth Nageotte Kostolansky, on October 26, 1946. She preceded him in death on November 2, 2015.
John lived most of his life in the Meadville Area. During WWII he served with the Army Air Corp in Iceland and England from 1939 to 1945. He held the rank of Tech Sergeant and worked as an airplane mechanic supervisor.
Most of his adult life he worked as a carpenter for the former Meadville Remodeling Co. and also was self-employed known for his excellent home remodeling and cabinet making. Before retirement he worked for a few years at the former Spencer Hospital (now MMC-Grove Street) in the maintenance department.
After his retirement he enjoyed repairing old lawn tractors, going to auctions and bus trips to the casinos. He was a member of St. Agatha's Church in Meadville.
Survivors include his daughter, Mary of Meadville, sisters-in-law, Jeanne Aaron of Blooming Valley; and Marie Robie of Dothan, AL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews Beside his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Steve, Victor, Albert and Paul and two sisters, Ann and Rose.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Agatha Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335 with Father Tom Troccio officiating.
The Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335 has been entrusted with the care of arrangements.

With Ruth as a cousin, I always felt John as a cousin.
Especially with the house he built on Mercer Pike which we eventually purchased. May God bless him together with wife Ruth.
