Alberta J. (Bertie) Greathouse, 84, of Meadville, passed away October 25, 2022 at MMC with loved ones by her side. She was born July 12, 1938, to the late Willard and Ethel Taylor. She married her loving husband, Wilbur (Bud) Greathouse August 29, 1969. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2022. Bertie attended Randolph schools. She worked retail for many years including Masons and Montgomery Wards. She was a member of Mount Hope United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #111. Bertie enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, and doing crossword and word search puzzles. She loved spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren who always made her smile. Bertie is survived by daughters: Cheryl Smith of Saegertown, Shelly Munsterman of Louisiana, and Renee (Adam) Potosky of North Carolina. Sons: Robert (Sherry) Woodrow of Conneaut Lake, Russell (Rhonda) Woodrow of Meadville and Arthur Greathouse of Frenchtown. 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren (3 of which are due in the next few months). A brother Larry (Barb) Taylor of Hooversville PA, brother-in-law Gordon Sprenkle and sister-in-law Marion Hickman. Lifetime friend Barb Miller and her special honorary children Richard Coleman and Betty Jean Rich. Along with cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sons, Ronald Woodrow, Michael Greathouse and Thomas Greathouse. Granddaughter RaeAnna Woodrow Mailliard and great granddaughter Chloe Dennis. Son-in-law Robert Munsterman, in-laws Ellen Sprenkle and Ralph Hickman. Her sisters, Emma Mae West, Lucille Stephens, Gladys Karns, Edith Cunningham, Lenora Mallard and a brother Willard Taylor. Private burial and services will be held at a later date. Internment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.
