SAEGERTOWN-Roseann Nicols Dies, 64 of Saegertown, passed away suddenly, July 12, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born on October 10, 1951 in Meadville, PA. She was the daughter of Barnetta Allhiser Nicols and the late Robert David Nicols. She married Marvin Dies on December 21, 1998 in Hydetown, PA. She graduated from Titusville High School in 1969. She received a certification in practical nursing in Oil City, PA in the early 1970's. Roseann was a licensed practical nurse for many years in Titusville, Oil City and Meadville hospitals. She later went to Clarion University, earning a Master of Library Science degree. She currently worked as a Librarian for the Meadville Public Library. She was an avid reader with a passion for literature. She loved animals, rescuing many. She enjoyed playing and teaching the piano. Above all, family meant everything to Roseann. Survivors include, her beloved husband Marvin Dies of Saegertown; her mother Barnetta Nicols and “Step-dad”, Gerald Sterling; two sons, Kirk McCandless and his wife Kasey of Titusville; and Sean McCandless of Titusville; three stepsons, Steven Dies and his wife Valerie of Cambridge Springs; Rodney Dies and his wife Erica of Cambridge Springs; and Bradley Dies and his wife Amanda of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Cullen McCandless, Melody McCandless and Roryn McCandless, three step grandchildren Karlee, Kylee and Jacob Dies; two sisters, Linda Hanna and her husband Robert of Townville; and Chris Propheter and her husband Skip of Centerville; three brothers, Robert Nicols of Titusville, Bruce Nicols and his wife Amy of Titusville and Andrew Nicols of Centerville; also many nieces and nephews. Roseann was preceded in death by her father, Robert David Nicols, and the father of her sons and former husband Michael McCandless. Friends and family are welcome to call at the Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 33353 N. Main Street, Townville, PA 16360, on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. until the time of service at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Larry Hellein officiating. Burial will take place at Kingsley Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Meadville Public Library, 848 N Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335, or the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
