Fred G. Leonard

Fred was born in Seattle, Washington on New Year's Day, 1947 and moved to Meadville, PA. shortly thereafter with his parents, Fred and Gerry Leonard, who were both born and raised in Meadville.
Fred attended Meadville area schools through his junior year but moved to Pittsburgh with his family in 1963 and graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1964. He worked in the retail industry all of his life, beginning as a sales clerk in Pittsburgh after graduation from high school. Fred worked his way up over the years as a buyer and seller of soft goods for various retailers in New York, New Jersey and New England. He resided in West Windsor, New Jersey but traveled all over the world and culminated his career as an Executive Vice President of Sales.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, wildlife and hummingbirds.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Perone and her husband Bruce; two sons, Frederick Leonard, and his wife Kimberly; Jeffrey Leonard and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Kristen Fischer, Ashley Janovsky, Jessica Perone; Cody Leonard; Garrett Leonard; Rachel Leonard; Nathan Leonard and his great granddaughter, Savannah Grace Fischer; two sisters, Karen Lampe and her husband Kenneth, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Janet Brown of Coneaut Lake, PA; one brother Jack D. Leonard and his wife Nancye of Garberville, CA; also, his God-Daughter, Kimberly Lampe, nephews Richard Lampe, Timothy Ellis and niece Tammy Price, also close friends Bill and Darlene Gehrt and his former wife and close friend, Charlotte Leonard.
Fred was preceded in death by his grandson, Jack Leonard and brother-in-law Arthur Brown.
Friends shared a time of memory at Ryan M. Warren Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 544 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335.

Fred was a good friend and I was happy when he moved back to Meadville. We shared lots of laughs at the hunting camp over the past few years. I’ll miss him!
